Pressing Instructions
Our transfers are hot-peel and beginner-friendly. Dial in your heat press by fabric for a perfect, long-lasting print.
Heat Settings by Fabric
| Fabric | Temperature | Press Time | Pressure |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100% Cotton | 305–320°F (152–160°C) | 10–15 sec | Medium-firm |
| 50/50 & Tri-Blends | 285–300°F (141–149°C) | 10–12 sec | Medium |
| 100% Polyester & Performance Wear | 265–285°F (129–140°C) | 8–10 sec | Medium |
| Nylon & Spandex | 250–265°F (121–129°C) | 8 sec | Light-to-medium |
Heat-sensitive fabrics scorch. Polyester, nylon, spandex, and performance wear burn easily — start at the low end of the range and only bump the temperature up if the transfer isn't fully adhering. When in doubt, test on a fabric scrap first.
Step by Step
- Pre-press the garment for 2–3 seconds to flatten it and remove moisture.
- Position your transfer print-side down where you want it.
- Press at the temperature, time, and pressure for your fabric (see the chart above), keeping pressure firm and even.
- Peel hot — pull the film off immediately in one smooth motion.
- Finish (optional): cover with parchment and re-press 2–3 seconds for extra wash durability.
Tips
Not sure of your blend? When a garment mixes fibers, follow the setting for the most heat-sensitive fiber in it (e.g., treat a cotton/poly blend like a blend, not like 100% cotton).
Home iron? A heat press gives the best, most consistent results, but a firm iron on the hottest safe setting for your fabric (no steam) for ~15–20s can work in a pinch.
Care: wash inside-out, cold, and hang or tumble dry low. Wait 24 hours before the first wash.
